I’d probably start with the emotional side of it: you’re expected to create clarity when there genuinely isn’t any—and still look calm while doing it. Because over time, what surprised me most is how little of the job is “textbook PM.” A lot of it is managing ambiguity, unspoken expectations, shifting priorities that no one formally acknowledges, and translating between people who all use the same words but mean completely different things.
